TuneTales Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and TuneTales ("we", "us") covering your use of the TuneTales app and this website. By downloading or using TuneTales, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

1. Who may use TuneTales

TuneTales is made for children aged roughly 4 to 10, but it is not for children to sign up to. You must be at least 18, or otherwise of legal age in your country, to create an account or buy a subscription. If you set the app up for a child, you are responsible for their use of it, including any purchases made from your device.

We recommend turning on the parental gate (Profile → Parental Controls) before handing the device to a child, so settings and purchases require a PIN or Face ID.

2. Your account

You can listen as a guest without an account. If you create one, keep your login details to yourself and let us know promptly if you think someone else has access to it. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. That removes your account and the data we hold for it from our servers, and it cannot be undone.

3. Free plan and Premium subscriptions

The free plan includes the free story library and 1 premium story unlock per day. TuneTales Premium is an auto-renewing subscription that adds the complete premium library, offline downloads and every narrator voice.

  • Billing runs through Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. We never see or hold your card details.
  • It renews automatically. Your subscription renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • You can cancel at any time. Manage or cancel in the Settings app: tap your name, then Subscriptions, then TuneTales. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Premium until the period you have already paid for ends.
  • Prices vary by country. Apple sets the local price for each storefront. The exact amount in your currency is always shown in the app before you confirm.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms, not by us. Contact us anyway if something has gone wrong and we will help where we can.

4. Content and licence

The stories, narration, artwork and software in TuneTales are owned by us or licensed to us. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them for your family's own, non-commercial listening and reading.

Some stories are retellings of folk tales and fables that are in the public domain. The underlying tales belong to everyone; our particular wording, narration and recordings do not. Please do not copy, record, redistribute, or publish them, or use them to train machine-learning models.

5. Acceptable use

Please do not:

  • copy, extract, or redistribute the stories or audio;
  • circumvent the parental gate, subscription checks, or download restrictions;
  • attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to our systems;
  • use the app in a way that breaks the law where you are.

We may suspend or close an account that does these things, and we will tell you why unless we are prevented from doing so.

6. Changes to the app

We add stories, change features, and occasionally remove them. Where a change materially reduces what a paid subscription provides, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect so that you can decide whether to keep subscribing. TuneTales requires iOS 16.0 or later, and a working internet connection for anything other than downloaded stories.

7. Availability and disclaimers

We work to keep TuneTales running well, but we cannot promise it will always be available or entirely free of faults. To the extent the law allows, the app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. TuneTales is entertainment and not an educational programme, a therapy, or a substitute for professional advice, and we make no promise about any particular developmental outcome.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of TuneTales. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep all the statutory rights you have where you live; these terms do not affect them.

9. Apple

Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for TuneTales. Apple is, however, a third-party beneficiary of them and may enforce them against you. Your use of the app must also comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, where TuneTales is based. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you may also rely on the mandatory consumer protections of your own country, and may bring proceedings there.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms materially, we will update this page, change the date at the top, and give notice in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use TuneTales after that means you accept the revised terms.
